Hi, my name is Karen, and I’ve been part of the Washoe County family for more than 15 years. I first joined the County in 2001 with Child Protective Services as an Office Assistant II, then moved to Public Works, where I stayed until 2008. After taking some time away to raise my twins, I returned in 2017 as a Family Support Specialist with the District Attorney’s Office, Family Support Division. Most recently, I earned my Paralegal Certificate, a goal I’m especially proud of achieving!
I believe our association is strongest when members feel connected, supported, and confident that their voices are heard. As a board member, I’m committed to advocating for resources, opportunities, and policies that help all of us thrive. I look forward to working with WCEA to continue strengthening that foundation.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and taking day trips to favorite spots like Virginia City, Genoa, Gardnerville, Markleeville, and of course, Lake Tahoe. When I’m not exploring Northern Nevada, I’m usually at home tending to my small (but very opinionated) flock of rescued parrots.
I’m excited for the opportunity to give back to the County community that’s given me so much over the years.
